It's interesting to me because I've been there. A friend of mine was the station director for several years (USGS seismic station ADK). I've also been to Amchitka and even Attu (once).

And the entire Aleutian chain is a subduction zone where the Pacific plate cycles down into the interior again. All sorts of seismicity up there.
