Your assertion of turf-ownership is laughable, and deserves no further response.

I will leave it to Roger to form his own opinions, likewise for the other members here. You might want to do the same.

Whether or not others here "liked my response" is a concern to me, as I try to be a good citizen, but is not highly correlated with the accuracy of what I post.

Your response to my post is tellingly characteristic of your Usenet postings, in that the hallmark of your responses is complete evasion of the issue/question.

So - why did you attempt to give legitimacy to your prediction by referencing two middling earthquakes which are notable only by their newsworthiness and not their seismological significance (to the case in question)? Why did you not answer Cathryn's very legitimate question?

Canie is the arbiter of what pushes the bounds of politeness here, and my characterization of you as a "nutcase" might push the boundaries a little. A likely perception for those who have only seen your original post in this thread, and are not aware of your history elsewhere. I submit that your postings clearly fit the pattern of a netkook or crank, as formally defined elsewhere (Google, Wikipedia, etc.) And I am certainly not the first to make that observation, though I arrived at it independently (based to a large extent on what appear to be delusions of grandeur - an apparent belief that numerous e-mails to foreign governments from an anonymous and unproven source will and should be acted upon).

Out of millions of Usenet posters, you are a member of the vanishingly small group who have actually been nominated for a Usenet Kook Award (the "VICTOR VON FRANKENSTEIN "WEIRD SCIENCE" AWARD" April 2006), AND the "Official" alt.usenet.kooks award ("Bobo" Award), as well as the "VVF Science Award (I'm not clear what that is, but it does not appear to be a distinction I would like to have). I submit the following small sampling of Internet references for those who would like to see for themselves:

First, your own website: http://home.netcom.com/~edgrsprj/index.html

then, the discussion contained in the following: http://www.groupsrv.com/science/about144560-0-asc-15.html

But, particularly, the vast archives of your postings to sci.geo.earthquakes and other newsgroups. I will grant you that, in contrast to most other posters who receive such awards and nominations, you are almost unfailingly polite. Congratulations.
