Bill Moyers: is God green

I just watched a highly interesting show on PBS: Bill Moyers on America: Is God green? It was about the evangelical Christians...some large chunk of them...becoming environmentalists because they don't think we should be destroying what God created. The last half hour, after West Virginia mountaintop removal, was about global warming. Issues included the corrupting influence of where you are getting your money (for example, the senator from Oklahoma). There was also a mention of Exxon Mobil's contributions to groups that confuse the science related to global warming. Nine days ago heartland wife emailed me the article in the journal Science on the same subject (Exxon Mobil). I don't think I have ever boycotted anything except tobacco stocks, but I think it is time that I stopped buying gas from Exxon-Mobil. Mobil had been my preferred gas because I worked for them one summer. I'm a scientist and I do not want to support a company that is undermining science...and especially a speciality (climate science) that I am involved in. This is from someone who did not think the Exxon Valdez was a big deal, and I thought that Exxon acted fairly responsibly on that afterwards....
At the end of the show, Moyers mentioned that that major loon, Pat Robertson, has undergone an environmental conversion since this past (hot) summer and thinks not only is global warming real, but we have to do something about it...
Here in the heartland...we are going to have a freeze tonight, 1 month earlier than the first freeze last year...
Chris.
