PREDICTION - Guadalupe Victoria
Posted by Glen on October 09, 2006 at 22:05:27:

Magnitude: 3.5-5.5, Swarm
From: 10/9/06 2100 PST - To: 10/16/06 2100 PST
Location: Guadalupe Victoria, Baja
Lat: 32.500N - Long: 115.250W - Range: 40 km

Howdy,

No activity in this area now, but I look for a pick up in the next week with a possible swarm. This may involve the southern section of the Laguna Salada fault, and if so, will be a normal mechanism. If the quake hits further east it will be strike slip with oblique component. Also the Imperial fault could pop something. So I made the circular 40 Km.

Quake will be felt

Depth---6 to 22 Km

The Obsidian Butte may become active first. The Salton Trough is active now, and I believe the geothermal southern section will react. Experimental prediction, as always. Let's see what gives.
