The world travel forecast by n.i.c.e. has some pretty substantial hits so far, especially N New Hebrides trench (5.5 Fiji, 6.3 Dencastreteau P.N.G. Solomon area with 6.1), an area off the Salomon Islands to the S.E. where a large fault ~ N. to S. teminates and butts into an E to N.W fault zone. I must admit that the National Geographic Magazine has always proved an indispensible resource for me, and as one of the used goods stores here sells them for a dime. I have a great collection of them and usually just the issues most relevant to my studies. Maps of the sea botton and faults, articles on evrything. At some time they've covered it well. I love their maps which I have a big collection that serves my every offline need. Something new happens geologically and I can buy reference material the next day for a dime. Chile coast (f.c. 5-6+)was active over6.3m, just a bit South of my suspect epizone, but not far enough away to not be a hit for a Chile Trench forecast. That's where it was. Kamchatka got a double event, two eq's@ 5.7, 5.8m, seconds apart and very near each other in location. No volcano reports from there anymore civilian funding plug pulled. Tajikstan (due N.W. of India nr Afghan.)between prediction zone between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan got a 5.2m and seems like it has some shearing from earlier large event (7.2) at Turkmenistan. Recommend Seniors public caution warning esp elderly. Alaska 5.7 Alaska peninsula. Alaska Tsunami Warning Center puts prelim mag 6.0 wc&atwc recent event message.(no tsunami generated).{Standard message under 6.8 mag.} Shook items off shelves, small village nearby, no other damage. Popo volcano erupted in strongest event in 800 yrs. Pilots challenged by ash, one pilots aborts attempt to fly through to Mex. City and returns to California. "Caution was warranted", as forecast on the 18th, day before large event. As I said, n.i.c.e. current world list very active because I've had improved computer access this month for extra research time. Thanks for supporting the non-profit n.i.c.e. research project.
