A hit is a hit. There are no "close hits" or "partial hits". You can have a "close miss", and I will pat your back. Close, but no cigar. I think I posted not too long ago something about self honesty. I use the baseball analogy because it fits. Foul balls don't move runners no matter how close they are to the inbound playing field. And remember, it is the predictor who sets those bounds. If somebody is getting close, let's encourage them. I already have an arguement going else where about this. Seems like a lot of people on these forums try to take credit for foul balls.
