Santa Cruz Island fault

We were climbing all over the western Christi outcrop of the Santa Cruz Island fault. There was an odd pattern of cracked/disrupted dirt over the last active trace at the edge of the gouge zone. I'd seen cracks along the last active trace of the Santa Rosa Island fault a decade ago...I assume this is related to shrinking and swelling of the gouge from moisture or lack thereof. But, them Santa Cruz Island fault was a little odd...like a bunch of moles had crawled around on it...kind of...not really. Most likely is not deep-seated creep...
We did not make it to the eastern outcrops of the 3 important faults because waves were breaking against the cliffs....really is a spooky coast there...
