Roger, you're right. A usenet group will not help in the way you'd like.

You will be able to search by person.

But you would have to edit the data, unless they post in such a way that makes that task simple, such as always posting the predictions in the same exact format. Kinda like how my EQDB predictions are listed in the file I have on my website.

I'm afraid that in order to do what you want, it would require a system that is at odds to the possibility of editing the messages. I guess it's like that old mantra, "Faster, better, cheaper. Pick any two."

The newsgroup has the advantage of messages being archived nearly 100% perfectly, not being editable, and having an independat date/time stamp fixed to them.

Something like the EW predictions submissions has the advantage of being indexible and searchable, but it requires trusting the board ops to be above....err...board. (bad pun, sorry)

And just so I am clear, I am NOT saying the board ops at EW are doing anything bad. Please don't misunderstand me. It's simply the fact that it is *possible* for messages to be edited that can create a possible atmosphere of distrust. My creating a usenet group was meant to eliminate that problem for specific circumstances. I honestly feel that the newsgroup should act to compliment EW and other quake forums by providing yet another tool by which quake predictions can be presented, discussed, and analysed.
