Hi Michael. I heard the sound of the fault when it broke. It took about 2 seconds for the first real shaking started. The first part was just a wiggle and almost didn’t feel it. The second part of the quake was felt as a hard jolt and shaking with a second hard jolt with just a little shaking then it was over. I would say it lasted around 5-6 seconds from when I heard it break to the time it stopped.

Today’s quake is in an area just north of where we normally have one of this magnitude. It’s close to two years ago that we had a 4.1Ml south of today’s location. Most of the quakes that we feel here are in that general area.

I rather doubt that it’s a foreshock to anything bigger. It is closer then most of the others so we could feel an aftershock or two. Take Care…Don in creepy town.
