The language I use, called XBasic, is 100% cross platform with Windows/Linux. That is, someone could take my source code (if I were to give it out) and compile it on a Linux machine and it would run with no modifications. But since I only have Win2K machines, I can only make an executable for Windows.

Unfortunately, the programming language has not been ported to MacOS.

XBasic is freeware and open source, so anyone at any time can download the source code to the programming language and port it over. It's just that nobody has done that yet. There just hasn't been the demand.

Being freeware and open source means that it's the users that update the language. There is no "development team" slaving away to try to take over the programming language market.
