I was thinking the same thing as I posted another OT post about Douglas Adams. And then I was also thinking that some meaty posts about animal sensitivity and earthquakes have been posted here in the last 24 hours that have gone unresponded to. I don't see what post Roger and Glen are talking about, so it is hard for me to weigh in. I do acknowledge we've gotten a little sidetracked, but even Canie agrees that community bonding, no matter how OT, is a valuable aspect of EW that I'd hate to see abandoned as we all just focus on earthquake topics.

Does anyone know how often the northern part of the San Andreas fault has a major quake? As it has only been 100 years since the last one, I wonder if we are imminently due or if this is part of a period of quiesence.
