Maybe Record year for volcanic eruptions

Folks, the below link shows that there have been 52 new or ongoing
eruptions this year. Average is 46 and record was 63 all last year.

At the link one needs to select 'Eruption by year Graphic' which is a
.DOC graphic download to see the data.

FYI...There have been 3 new ones in the vicinity of Papua N. Guinea
in the last 10 days. These new ones are the rare types. The
last time any of these erupted was at least 120 years ago.
