Modification of my prediction program

Hi all;

progress report.

I decided to base the selected areas on the NEIC catalog, since that's the easiest source for current global quakes. Some of the chosen 6 squares shifted a bit for that reason and from the way integer math works on negative numbers.

Then I ran the program against the first 6 months of 2006, with the following results:

LAT LON HITS TRIES HIT % PROB.
36.00, 70.00, 2, 6, .333, .296
36.00, 71.00, 3, 6, .500, .346
-8.00, 128.00, 3, 6, .500, .247
-16.00, -174.00, 2, 6, .333, .237
-18.00, -179.00, 4, 6, .667, .422
-21.00, -179.00, 4, 6, .667, .291

Not bad, eh? 18 hits within a 1 degree square area.
5 day window, mag 4+

Who can top this?

And remember, it's all just chance.

Roger
