Not enough data

Hello Jane,

I have studied a lot of the sequences prior to the large quakes up there. Many of the 6.5+ quakes do have build up swarms. Problem is, some large quakes have no micro precursors at all. Of the ones I have studied, the current activity is very robust. The big problem is not having high quality data back into time. Wish I could see a map on the quakes before 1964 Prince William Sound. In the end, even if we had high quality data for the last 100 years, we would be skimming a micron layer of info off a 12 foot deep swimming pool.
