Mount Pleasant, Huntington, Utah Quakes

Hi All. The quakes in the area of Mount Pleasant and Huntington, Utah is approaching 500.

I asked a friend of mine who is a geophysicist if these quakes could be volcanic as opposed to tectonic. He feels that they are tectonic in that they are to small to be related to volcanic. The most probable event taking place here is a new fault is being made, or an old one is waking up.

My feeling on this is that spreading centers is what were seeing here. This means that a large quake could occur there at any time. Then again they could stop and that would be the end of it until the next time. Take Care…Don in creepy town.
