I have four dogs and live oh, maybe 20-30 miles from the epicenter as the crow flies, I'm guessing. None of them acted strangely or out of character before this quake. I do look at animal behavior. For two nights before the quake, we could hear coyotes in the woods next to our house crying, baying, howling as the sun went down. Tonight, silence.

So maybe wild dogs are better earthquake sensors than my domesticated friends, and maybe better than the home alarm that Canie recommended and I bought. Haven't had it up long enough to know yet.
