No lenders that I am aware of ever require anyone to have earthquake insurance and the flood issue is big everywhere.

I just wanted to say there are still insurance companies that are not signatories to the CEA and are still offering the full program for earthquake coverage. In other words the same coverages you have for your home for normal losses are matched by the same for earthquake and still can be purchased with a 10% deductible. So you do have a choice to find another company who will provide you with far more coverage, a similiar price and a lower deductible.

It pays to shop. Especially for quake coverage.
