I didn't speak-up earlier.
I think what you did was "gutsy" but even more so humane & considerate.
It's not a black & white situation you entered and I'm sure you are probably taking some heat in the fall-out.
I was unable to listen to others constructive help on such matters thru my teenage & young adult years. Now in my forties, I am finally able to listen to what those close to me tell me about my behavior. I sometimes wish that my family and friends had done more of an intervention on me years ago.
To me the best friends are those that put the relationship/friendship on the line in order to help.
I'm feeling a little too awake and slightly grandiose myself tonight so I'm going to try some boiled turkey, warm milk, and listen to others if they notice my behavior getting out of line.
