Glen; You're finally catching on, eh? LOL! Reality is not nearly as simple as we might like. Yes, the map idea is to look at an area over time, with old quakes vanishing as new ones appear, all in 3-d (thanks, Chris). If there's anything there, you should see a pattern drifting across the screen rather than random flashes all over. I started with a world map but a closer look at a limited area should work better. Any suggestions for a hot region?
