Glen,

Your San Felipe ear tone had it's matching earthquake and in the time frame it should occur in and the precise location. San Felipe is much further south than this earthquake, so you have it all unto yourself. One tone, one location, one winning ear tone report.

This is proven because we can measure the distance. It's never a guess when reported correctly. You should go round the net sometime and have a look at other peoples ear tone reports and ask why they are the way they are. Then think about this program and ask why there is no big mystery here. And when thanks are given for this measurement, Don in Hollister gets it all. He was the only person to think about determining the distance by dividing the distance from the listener by the seconds of ear tone heard after I heard the Nisqually earthquake. If it were not for him, we would never be where we are today.

This program has been an ongoing development for years. Each year or sometimes several times a year someone will come up with a winning thought and adding that to what we already knew has made some significant results. Of our guys is a techno person and he gave us sound bites recently so we could uniformly report what we are hearing. As geology is an integral part of this program those sounds tell me which direction to look in when preparing predictions. Without them, it wouldn't mean anything. I don't think anyone I've seen who reports ear tones has ever taken a course in geology, but you absolutely have to know it.

But we have miles to go yet. It isn't perfect and it might never be. But I do know that some of the help I've received of late will prove very valuable later because it comes from people who know more about statistical analysis than I do. Though I did receive a book recently which will help me in that regard.

I see so much room for improvement, but time is a real consideration. If you can imagine spending at least two hours a day after work and on the weekends too to make this project have a life and do it for years and years then one might have some idea about how devoted I am and to the wonderful people who devote their time to making accurate reports. And now it's still growing as new people have heard about me and they are volunteering too. Though we now cover a territory from Canada to New Mexico there are plenty of gaps where there is no coverage at all and we need to fill in those gaps.

All in good time, I'm sure.

Petra
