Hello Canie,

That is not in the area I predicted. The Guadalupe Victoria is in the divergent zone, whereas the western Salton Trough and the Coyote Creek faults are clearly strike slip. The San Jacinto is a baby to the SAF. Also, Bombay Beach is at the northern end of the Brawley fault zone, a region which devorced the Rico fault and is now progessing north. After hiking from Niland to Bombay many times, I noticed that nothing in the way of kingdom plantae can be examined there. There are many alluvial fans and erosions that expose an interesting infill. Pumace. Hope I remembered how to spell that. Go down to the Salton Sea and throw a rock in there. Darned thing floats! (sodium chloride has it's way of doing that)
