Russell....the Pacific Plate does not subduct under the Pacific NW: it is the Juan de Fuca and its parts that do this. The Pacific plate subducts under the Aleutians through Japan....and probably some plate boundaries south of Japan....some of the islands I think (could check map). It would be relatively easy to find tectonic maps on line....we have such a map in our 1980 atlas..
