My recollection of Dennis Gentry's prediction efforts on this forum are somewhat different. IIRC, there was a great deal of controversy over whether he was doing better than chance, and this despite the fact that an expert in statistical analysis, with special expertise in seismological statistics, was subjecting his predictions to such scrutiny. It is possible that I am conflating this forum with S.G.E postings during the same time frame, but the observation remains.
