Roger Larson, early plate tectonic

I just received an email that said that Roger Larson died. He is one of the Gods or demi-gods of plate tectonics, working on marine geophysics. Among other things, he worked on the seafloor spreading between Baja and mainland Mexico, and much more recently, on the Cretaceous (=late Dinosaur age) voluminous volcanism that made unusually thick oceanic crust in part of the Pacific. He was a professor at University of Rhode Island. Chris
