Earth Expansion vs Plate Tectonics

Hi All,

I don't know about you guys, but I've felt a little intimidated about posting here of late due to the desire of some to see everything we write edited. But I thought I would test the waters and see where this goes.

I've been dilly dalling around with a geologist in discussing Earth Expansion vs Plate Tectonics and he's rather of the old school and most of the posters here are of the new school. I'm not sure that either one is valid or invalid. It's much like a cultural divide. In this case, more of an age issue. The old school didn't teach plate tectonics, but the new school did, so consequently not everyone is not on the same page. Much depends on where one lives as well. If you're over here in the eastern pacific you'll think differently than one who sits on the western side. But do we really have to make a choice? In the big picture does it make a difference? Does everything have to fit in one box? Boy, I'm not sure about making a decision about this yet. Maybe I need to hear more about this.

In the interim, here's a little food for fodder in the attached link.
