I am so sorry to hear about the almost modern persecution of both Shan and Petra for daring to think "out of the box".

I'll never understand why innovative thinking always seems to discouraged or equated with lunacy. A physicist's theories recently led to the paper of the year: one where a hyperdrive was outlined. Now before you dismiss this as utter nonsense, the paper was deemed paper of the year by AIAA. The breakthrough work was done by Walter Dröscher and Jochem Häuser. However, it was based on amazing work done by a physicist named Burkhard Heim.

Burkhard Heim (February 9, 1925 – January 14, 2001) was a German theoretical physicist. He devoted a large portion of his life to the pursuit of his unified field theory; Heim theory. One of his childhood ambitions was to develop a method of space travel, which contributed to his motivation to find such a theory.

Heim theory basically is the theory that predicts the standard model. It actually can give the expected mass of particles and is the basis for measuring the physical values measured by various experiments to see if the results falls into a predicted range. It also is the only known theory able to do this to date. So the orthadoxy couldn't dismiss this space drive paper because it was based on Heim space. The same theory their career is based on. Nevertheless, it is still controversial.
