Hello Cal,

Let's say that birds do sense a quake coming. The problem is scientifically proving it, which means finding out just what it is they sense. Can elephants sense a coming quake? I would go down to the San Pasqual Animal Park and chip them, and make a record of thier cardio/vascular reponses. The problem with eastern San Diego county is that we have a continous rumble going all the time. How would we ascertain the difference between a 3 mag in Borrego or a 5+ mag in Anza. It is highly complex, and very, very problematic. I think this is the core of the issue here. As for me, I think cockateels sense coming earthquakes once they have begun. That might be worth its weight in gold, if I can prove it.
