Everything you've pointed out are situations where the cat may sense the event before the humans do, but *AFTER* the event has already started. Did any cat sense the fire _before_ the fire started? Did any cat freak out _before_ the gas started to leak?

Yes, cat's are amazing creatures. I have two of them, both rescues, btw. I respect them more than I respect most humans.
