Could be. Did some poking around, although I doubt this is what we are hearing. To my way of thinking, the tones are too pure, too loud at times of quiet to be OAEs. I sleep with ear plugs because the spouse snores up a storm at night. It gets very quiet "in there" and then I will be awakened by some loud tone, usually in the low decible range. I don't get it.
