I have no idea what I'm hearing. The ear tone/earthquake theory is as plausible as any other. I know Petra has here stated she only counts the main tone, not the trail off, and I wonder if that might not be a flaw in her grand scheme. He*l, the inverse square law negates the possibility of hearing earthquake faults altogether, expecially if we don't count the trail off.

So, back to your question. I hear them, but I can't pin them on any one thing, nor do I believe there needs be an explanation other than something physiological going on. It would be nice, though, to know what these tones are connected to, either inside or outside the body.
