Hi Cowboy, I'm not sure how I got on top of the cement divider that night either. I might have even broken the laws of physics doing it. I remember I had been downtown at the city council meeting in Petaluma and I left the top down on the car. So it all looked fine when I got into the car. I drove a few miles an I wanted to stop at the grocery store so I need to make a left turn where the divider became more narrow. So I moved over where it looked like it had narrowed and due to the lighting and a tiny bit of moisture inside of the window glass I went from being on the pavement to straddling the divider. It's a very narrow one, maybe only 8 inches wide. So the car just kept on going and sparks were flying out from under there and I think I remember some noises too. I don't know if I had the wheels on the ground or if I was going by sheer momentum. And when I got to end there was a little reflector and I took that out. Then all of the sudden I was off of the divider and I was in the left turn area where I wanted to be in the first place. You know, even today it seems like a mystery. I've been in the spot thousands of times, night and day and it was never a problem. Maybe the forces of gravity were not normal that night? The car should have turned over, but it didn't. It would have been ok anyway because I had a very good roll bar in that car. Did you get the young mans name in Bitterwater and his e-mail address? I could tell him where he might feel some earthquakes and he could go. I can't because it never happens for me. You watch, no sooner than I move from Santa Rosa one day, this place will have it's 7.0 earthquake and I'll never feel it. I have the worst luck. Maybe I could find a city to adopt me and they can put up a sign and it could say "Quake Safer" we've got Petra here. Of course if I left the general area from time to time, then all bet's would be off. It's like Parkfield. The morning they had their 6.0 I wanted to be there and yet, I knew if I went it wouldn't happen until I left. I think the forces of nature like me because I don't get lightning at my house either.
