Newsy Day - Jordan Responds & Other News

Hi Everyone,

I feel like I should be the club reporter; maybe I am and I don't recognize it yet.

Jordan decided to answer my e-mail insofar as replying, but as for the answers I was hoping to hear, nada. He thanked me for forwarding Roger Mussons SRL Letter on his prediction evaluation program and said if I wanted to know what his (Jordan's) program was that I should read his SRL Letter. I have read it and it doesn't say what he said last April in Menlo Park. He signed off saying, Cheers! So I will not be partcipating in his program. Not a problem.

Ok next step, I heard from my friend at the California Seismic Safety Commission and if they are not granted and extension under AB1374/Liu which the Governor vetoed 10/1/05, then they will lose their funding and they will close down in 2007. There's a lot more language to this than what I'm stating here, but as it stands 7/1/2007 may be the day they close their doors. I feel a sense of ying/yang on this matter as they haven't accomplished that much of late; but with the right people it could be entirely different. It needs pumping up, more energy, more enthusiasm, a shaking quake. Something that moves and motivates. Anyway, my friend was greatly enthused about my programs and said he wanted to have updates so he could update all of the folks on the commission.

I'm still awaiting approval from Mayor Newsom's office and had a chat with his protocol department today. I hate to wait...

I got to see the whistles today they are ordering and I'm impressed and I got another shot at turning the wheel for further funding for whistles and PSA's. The latest on the PSA's is that they are breaking lightspeed to get them out on the radio airwaves before April 18th.

One the web site construction end, I am four pages into it having lost a lot of time on Friday night when I lost track of the navigation system. But no matter I got it figured out, got some support from the web team and I'm back on track now. So far, so good. Much more to do. But I do love it and I also had the opportunity to start loading Seismic Wave as well and hopefully come April 18th they'll both be up and running and I'm sure out there/not in here there will be much to discuss.

So there's the news of the day...Petra
