Good News now Dennis - One thing that Mr Clinton has done recently (last march, april?) was to remove the 'scrambling' from most of the satellites signal. So unless you are in a 'sensitive' area, the accuracy is now very good - even the elevation. The GPS series that most USGS receivers use could decipher the gov scrambling anyway - I think I heard they were accurate to 2mm or some such. A search thru the news on GPS should find the news releases on the signal changes.
