A Little Fright - Learn from my mistake.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday morning I had a close call with a drug addict in a staircase in the building I work in and I made the wrong choice. There isn't much to this story, but I thought I would share it in hopes that someone besides me might make the right choice if you encounter something similar.

I walked down a flight of stairs and turned and I saw this man who was about 30 with his bicycle, which was one of those very short one's. He was standing at the bottom of the next group of stairs, just inside the door. I was just thinking he was a homeless person and they don't bother anyone. So I got about half way and in my head I think all of the alarms started going off because I was thinking "don't panic, don't panic." So I got down to the bottom and I said hello and "boy, it's a tight fit here, let me go around you" and I'm thinking "don't grab me, don't grab me." And right after that I realized, I made the wrong choice.

I guess it was my lucky day. It's truly rare for something like this to happen in Petaluma; but we don't have Polly Klaas either. This is the real world and I can't promise anyone they'll have a lucky day, so make your own luck; turn around and go the other way!
