Mogi donuts are out of style at the moment, although I did see a paper arguing for quiescence before the Chi-Chi earthquake in this month's (February) BSSA: Seismic Quiescence before the 1999 Chi-Chi, Taiwan, Mw 7.6 Earthquake by Yih-Min Wu and Ling-Yun Chiao, p. 321
