I guess I have to post something interesting related to quakes soon to make up for this off topic...at least I'm not doing politics...
I'm going to be 50 in a couple weeks, and on Sunday, 2 days, I'm playing in a hockey game against the Jersey Devils alumni: retired NHL ice hockey players, most of whom are probably younger than me. We did this 2 and 3 years ago...2 years ago was embarassing, 3 years ago my line actually played well against them (I was with two ringers from Montreal). I thought today was the anniversary, but it was Feb 25, 1986...I skated 200 km in one day on canals around northern Netherlands (Freisland). One big clockwise loop. The next day over 16,000 Dutch did the official tour...with the first 300 of them racing, and the winner, Evert Van Benthem, finishing in less than 7 hours. It took me 14 hours, but 2 of these were hanging out in bars (drinking soup). This is the Elfstendentocht (11 cities tour). It has most recently been held in 1963, 1985, 1986, and 1997. I'd love to do the official tour...but hard to be there and in shape and with a start card unless you live there...
