About Vertigo & Earthquakes

Hello Everyone,

Have you ever had to much alcohol to drink and felt the room spinning around and found sometimes if you put your leg over the bed it would stop? Well, if you know that sensation and the degree that the room seems to be spinning, then imagine it twice as fast. I've had vertigo for two weeks and recently learned there's more than one kind. This kind the doctor tells me is classic. I feel the room spinning so fast I can't even open my eyes or it upsets my stomach. The total round of various symptoms lasts for about an hour.

Previously I had a different kind of vertigo. It happened to me twice, but the last time was several months before Loma Prieta. In this kind of vertigo it seems like the floor is moving, but it isn't. It comes and goes for about two weeks and then its gone.

So if any of you at anytime have suffered from vertigo, did you have type one or type two and are you aware of an earthquake following within months of having it?

I've heard from others that they also got vertigo before earthquakes, but as I was unaware there was more than one kind, now I wish to know what they experienced. One of the above, or something totally different?

So if any of you can offer your perspective on the "spin sensation", jump in and let me know.

From North Of The Golden Gate...Petra Challus
