Hi Tony. Thanks for the pictures. We have an area that is similar to that near Gilroy, but it has been that way for more then 60 years. As a kid I would go there and catch the flies that lived on the oil. They could land on it without getting stuck. I would take them to my biology class.

Went down to Parkfield this morning. That place is dead. Almost no one around the area anywhere. Could be the weather is keeping them out. I drove along the San Andreas fault the whole way down. In some places you have no trouble in seeing it. Sure glad I have 4-wheel drive. Got a little hairy in a couple of places.
