Hi Glen. Actually it’s closer to 41°, which puts it inside the ring. This is an active area so a FFA in this area isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Proving the quake was caused by the M=7.5 is something else. Like everything else acceptance is slow in coming. Old ideas are hard to change and new ideas are even harder to accept. Science is that way. Sometimes it takes a 2X4 between the eyes to get their attention and there are times that doesn’t even work.
