As far as the housing developments - it's become outrageous. They'll build and sell anything, anywhere. I got a good look at this crowd when I defended a tree sitter (John Quigley) a few years ago. What a shameless bunch these developers are.

They are going to plow through Mentryville and put up over 20,000 homes through the lower west end of the Santa Clarita Valley - right at the apex of the south end of the valley. As it is, we are all on top of each other. Before this addition of approximately 75,000 to 100,000 new comers, the frustration in living here is immense. You can barely get in and out of parking lots without a fight breaking out.

The area where they seek to develop appears to be very active with petroleum and natural gas. The developers just go in an literally flatten these beautiful hills. It's crazy.

Gorman is supposed to see a development of 25,000 in the vicinity just south of Tejon Ranch. I'm an avid amateur astronomer and we are kissing Mt. Pinos goodbye as a dark sky site.
