Well there is a difference between use and abuse.

I tend to think that those "newly reborn folx" in recovery are the first to show a lack of understanding for "use" because they dare not place themselves in that category ever again. ( having fallen into the "abuse" side of things. ) Hence, no tolerance for themselves or others, unfotunately. However, I can understand that they need to keep their resolve to survive.

Don, from his posts, has never struck me as an "abuser" of substances. His information and anaylsis are first rate. I enjoy them a lot, and some I've printed out and re-read. Don stikes me as one who likes to kid & enjoy life as much as possible. He can also show a more serious and professional side if need be.

I can understnad Petra's jump to his defense, and her pointing out the obvious.

I look forward to reading about their adventures and admire their comradery!
I also get a kick out of the misconceptions that have arisen (husband, wife, homewrecker?-heh heh), but then I think that's because Petra can wordsmith a good story so skillfully, she can make you feel like you are there ( and some people just assume, as they fill in the blanks )!

I read the postings, which are self explanatory about the meds, and I know of his long-term battle with back pain. I admire his strength, fortitude and that he likes to laugh.

Laughter really is the best medicine.

I thot I might add "neither is she"! (I just assume that's next!)
