There's no odor. However, it is my understanding that domestically used natural gas has it's scent added to it for detection purposes. I don't know what else it would be.

One clue is this: The well is at an elevated apex in the trail. As you move slightly lower in elevation down the trail (20ft), the smell is stronger. There may be some argument for dead vegetation at the bottom of a ravine that the well is just above.

Does anyone have any predictions for Southern California?
