Roger made a series of graphs on FFAs, and we had a fair amount of discussion of it here. Roger may have only sent the graphs to me and not posted them..I think it was a separate graph for each of about 20 largest quakes,(probably most were M8 range), with the horizontal axis angular distance, and the vertical axis being number of, I guess, M5+ quakes. There was some way of getting days before and after...maybe looking at the input files. It seemed pretty clear that there was no strong effect...that FFA was not a strong predictor. But, it kind of did seem like therew as something weak around 102 deg or so. But, it is certainly possible that there is simply no effect at all. Note that this does not mean that FFAs (the rings) could not trigger M3s...because we did not look at this.
