Hi Roger. Just out of curiosity I looked for other quakes larger then M=7.0 and found only one within a 160Km (100 miles) radius. When I expanded the search to 320Km (200 miles) I found 3 more quakes. Two M=7.0+ quakes in less then 24 hours have occurred 155 times since 1900. Rare, but not all that rare. Quakes occur all the time and sooner or later there will be some that will occur in close proximity to one another in regards to time. Interesting though.
