Canie...maybe a M8 in Australia is not so likely, but depends on how you define Australia...do they still have half of New Guinea, or is it independedent? Do the have any Pacific Islands above subductions zones? I think continental australia has zero historic M8 earthquakes...although they had some, I think, M7s at Tenant Creek...
Otherwise, I had the same thought.
