Hi Barbara. The quakes listed are from 1988 to 1997. You can make up your own list by using the ANSS quake catalog and a rectangle search or a polygon search. You may pick up some quakes in the State of Nevada and also just off shore, but for quakes below M=3.0 this isn’t going to make that much of a change in what you’re looking for.

In some parts of California you can go back as far as 1898 for the large quakes. For the real small ones you can’t get much further into the past then around 1970 for some areas. The reason being is that there were insufficient numbers of seismometers to record all of the quakes.

Some years will have real high numbers of M=0.1 to M=3.0 quakes as well as a slightly higher number of M=4.0 and M=5.0 quakes because of aftershocks from some of the larger quakes, but those are easy to spot. Take Care…Don in creepy town
