Re: I see the future, not always the greatest

Hi all:
Just to be extra depressing---yes, we women have had incredible opportunities. However, we haven't used any of our good sense politically. (Except perhaps for the women in this ng!) We helped re-elect the worst president in US history. We don't train our daughter to be educated and realize that the entire goal of life isn't a Man. We haven't insisted on good treatment by males, and have pretty much ignored the plight of our sisters in other parts of the world. We may think that we have it all, but we are also giving it all away...I dunno. ( I am speaking about women in the US in general--they would rather have a Wal Mart than a Phd, and think that Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson are role models.)

I worked for an oil exploration company for several years. Sure, they hire and are secretive and competitive. But---there is only so much oil out there, and we have a pretty good idea where it is. In fact, about 70 per cent of all the oil discovered in California is still in the ground. We don't have very good technology to retrieve it in a safe fashion (my opinion only.)

What scares me the most about the world now is, in order of scariness---
Hard core religion
Ignorance about science
George Bush and his mother
overpopulation...
Our stupidity about looking for options to our oil technology

OK, I'm gonna have another glass of wine.
Cheers---
