Well, not quite.

Knoppix recognises my modem but doesn't remember it.

Mandrake doesn't see it at all.

Linux is a pain in the .... It thinks it's a mainframe with all it's logins and permissions. You can't do anything without knowing what it's called and you'll never guess what it's called.
