Petra...nevermind the Sumatra prediction or not. What is more interesting, and maybe more important, is whether his device works...for example, at Long Valley Caldera. I'm not a Physicist, and have no idea what the folliwng means: "This sensor forms a large surface area avalanche mode amorphous silicon based device that is precision tunable by accurately controlling the avalanche current across the PIN junction. Think of it as a light dimmer– able to dial in the precise light setting by adjusting a dial. By setting the precise charge ratio across a physical atomic junction, the sensor is able to ‘dial in’ or tune to the normally undetectable emissions." (from Barbara's link). But, nevermind that...he is either detecting some real signal or is not. I can't even read his graph on the link. But, since this is self-internet published (or..he may have a book), there needs to be some confirmation that the data are accurately reported/reproducible...
I've seen on this page where people claim that they have some method and I look at the graph, and see no match at all (people no longer posting here?). So, maybe Park's data are available elsewhere. Assuming that Park is not going to spend the money to, for example, have instruments on the internet in "real time", if the graphs look like there is a clear signal, then some scientist would want to reproduce that....but I have doubts that anyone would end up wanting to do that, as it would probably be next to impossible to get funding to check...
Park might want to team up with some research seismologist or physicist and try and publish this in a scientific journal...but again, easier said than done..
Chris
