That's the first ray of hope I've had lately.

It didn't work but at least I got the files copied to the HD.

Linux is a royal paim, IMHO. It thinks it's a mainframe serving idiots instead of a single user desktop system.

The idiot part may be close but this root vs user crap with mount and unmount and who knows what else is just BS.

I'm using Mandrake. I like Knoppix better. It shows me what's available whereas Mandrake shows me a blank screen.
